Main Supernatural Ability: Control over the four elements of Earth, Water, Fire and Air. He is most powerfully connected to Earth, and can use this element to great effect. The other elements do not respond to his commands as readily or effectively, and require severe - often painful - sacrifices or rituals to co-operate effectively
Other/Minor Supernatural Abilities: Able to communicate with all plants and meld into untainted, unpolluted and undomesticated plants to control their movements.
Drawbacks To Supernatural Abilities: Severely weakened by pollution and other man-made factors. E.g: stick him in a box full of smog, and he won't be able to do much about it.
Character's Job: Freelance gardener - and a very expensive one at that. He is a specialist in using terrain, 'wild' plants and weeds to great effect.
Family Ties: None
Relationships: None - yet. Permanent loving relationships are unlikely due to his constant need to move on from towns.
Short Character History: Inard has no idea when he came into being. All he knew was that one day, at least 1000 years ago, the four elements came together and he became sentient. It is written, however, in English folklore that one day the trees themselves gave birth to a spirit in the early 500's. He was conceived in a time where people believed everything around them was controlled by supernatural forces they couldn't control or guess at. As such, he was revered and respected by people. He became the spirit of the Woodlands to the druids and pagan worshippers of England, and he lapped up the attention, worship, and occasional dark ritual sacrifices. At this point, he could only communicate with the element of Earth, but was working hard on mastering rituals to control the three others under the guidance of his brother and sisters - the spirits of Water, Air and Fire also worshiped by the druids and pagans.
However, as time passed in it's inexorable march of destruction and progress, the minds of humans changed, and so did Inard. Early in the 1300's, when the Church really started to come to power and pagan beliefs and worshippers vanished rapidly, the world around Inard became cold and unwelcoming. Instead of being revered and respected, he was shunned and spurned as an abomination - as a blight or curse. So Inard changed with it. The Fae have links with humans in ways not even they understand. Inard became uncaring to the world, and started down a path of destruction. Considering the elemental power of Earth to heal and decay, many claim a disgruntled Inard was the source of the black plague. But he denies this, but not wholly.
Modern Religion could not stamp him out, and frustrated it formed a tag team with Science. Science now took over in the battle to eliminate him from the minds of man, and he resisted as much as he could, until late in the 1700's, when he decided it was time to move on - the minds and hearts of men had moved on. Saddened by this cruel fact, his heart literally hardened into a stone, and he became human, giving up his powers and living as a simple hermit in the woods. But this was not to be. A passing seer happened on his hut and requested to stay the night. Gerard - as he was then known, obliged in ignorance of her powers - but she not in ignorance of his. Over that night, she showed him his connections with the natural world through prophecy and he became a Fae once more.
She did something else for him. She cast a spell of concealment on him, so he could be himself among the realms of man. Since then he has lived lives as hundreds of different people - always arriving from a foreign land, trying not to be famous, and then 'dying' or disappearing when his eternal youth almost became noticeable. As he lived through this time, his heart softened. Living among humans showed him the good sides they had - compassion, friendship, love. Once more his heart beat with emotions. He still distrusts the human race - hundreds of years of hate and fear are hard to forget, and this shows in his personality. But he is changing every year.
Most recently he has become Seth Burgoyne, a resident of Portland, an immigrant from England who arrived at 30 and has been there for five years. He accidentally rose to national fame as a gardener for his beautiful work in the area with the local Rose Garden, and has had to decline offers of work in far flung areas in an attempt to stay inconspicuous. However, he is growing tired of his forced hiding, and longs for the day he can just be his true self, walk down the street and get some coffee without the screams of small children and women, and the gunfire of the men.
