“Shit Carl! Did you honestly think that I wouldn’t find out?”
Sweating with agitation and frustration only made the situation more uncomfortable for the Boss and his soon to be ex-employee. Rumbles of anger rioted through his throat forcing his hands towards his head in complete desecration of his hair. The tension in the boss’s teeth obliterated the pen that had been stuck inside his mouth all-throughout the argument, causing a sudden splatter of ink upon the unfortunate Carl.
Feeling betrayed and plagued, the Boss had almost come to tears, but hid them well, by giving himself a moment’s silence, staring straight at his bookcase with his back to Carl.
“Six years Carl…six freaking years and it comes to this?” His head lay collapsed inside the palm of his hand with his other arm crossed over his chest, still with his back towards his work colleague.
“I’m sorry but I’m going to have to let you go!”
A completely shattered and shocked Carl begged to be forgiven, and explained that it had all been for his family with a sudden onset of desperation and panic.
“I’m not having it! We’ve been friends for years Carl! YEARS! You could have come to me! This is the final straw, now get the F**K out of my office!” Tearful and lost Carl eventually managed to rid himself from the building.
“F***! F***! F***!” There wasn’t anyone else to throw his anger upon so the Boss trashed his desk. He swept everything off his desk with great fury and dared himself to start on the books…but managed to stop, remembering he wasn’t alone in the room…
He turned to gaze at the figure in the corner, but too embarrassed to hold the stare and instead, leant upon his desk holding himself up with his two fists. “I’m sorry Mr. Denure; I didn’t realize it would get out of hand like this” A heavy sigh shattered a pressure deep inside his stomach allowed him to think clearer.
“The last 3 employees that I had to sack were all ‘moles’, you could say. Somehow our competition managed to get to them first, and instead of employing them into their company, they paid them double what I was, to purposely allow the competition to win court cases. It’s cost me thousands! Almost millions! Then they of course got to Carl…my good friend. I didn’t even realize he was desperate for money, I only found out he was thousands in debt…no wonder he betrayed me. Hell, I would betray me for that kind of money they were paying them!”
The whole time the Boss rambled on; Gray remained in a cool, cocky and collective stance. He had been leaning against a £2000 window pane, at the back of the room, with his arms crossed, and legs diagonally crossed out in front of him. His head turned to look over to the boss, whilst keeping his stance nonchalant.
It was a hard business to run, especially a lawyer’s office. You had to have the people on your side; their progresses monitored and most importantly, make sure the money was rolling in. For the last six years the company was questioned by police even the FBI for scandal. Cases had to be re-opened, and several innocent people were arrested for no wrong doing. This was a very risky business and something Gray was proud not to be involved with.
“I need your help…I need you to find me people who I can trust and some God to help me clear up all this shit. The police are coming back to investigate and interrogate to find out if there were anymore people that should be shoved”. The boss shook his head in disbelieve. “At least our main competition has been dissolved. Thanks to you! But man its going take years to clean this all up”.
Gray knew that he now had to find the best of the best and employ them on behalf of the Boss. This wasn’t going to be an easy process. It would take months of interviews, searching and deciphering, but it would definitely be a good hunt.
Denure walked out the office closing the door tightly behind. The secretaries and other staff suddenly jumped as glass could be clearly heard breaking against the walls. Gray cringed slightly, exposing an apologetic ‘whoops’ expression to the audience.
All the shouting and fighting had aroused Gray slightly, and now he just had to blow some steam off. Perhaps a good hunt, would do the trick?
…Or maybe not. As he made his way through the building, his attention fixated onto a perfectly tight ass. The woman bending down for some water out of the cooler, had hypnotized Gray into a playful performance, deliberately maneuvering all her curves into the right places.
It was merely seconds later that he had her up against a wall of a small janitor’s cupboard. Gray wasn’t in the mood for slow and sensual, but merely a good old pounding-quickie.
Four minutes later Gray left the cupboard looking a little more flushed and feeling relaxed. The woman herself was left unspoken to and messy. Just before walking around the corner he quickly pulled his flies up and headed out the building.
Later that evening whilst searching the fridge for nibbles, Gray drank out of a milk carton, feeding his cravings. He had changed out of his work suit and quickly threw on a thin cotton black jumper, and some nice slightly baggy jeans. His apartment was a typical young mans’ snazzy business style, with good comfortable chairs and a couch. The kitchen was recently installed with new fittings and the bathroom too. The place was generally clean, although he never had anyone or anything to clean up for. Gray never brought back anyone to his apartment, it was his place, and his place alone!
Usually on a night like Friday, Denure would head to Avandrya, but with last week’s incident, he thought best to stay away. Fights were never spoken or seen in the club, and the fact that no one had come looking for him, meant that it was not a natural fight. Something or someone had caused the crowd to get a little rowdy on purpose, but it didn’t worry Gray too much.
Denure was feeling a little restless and had been watching TV up to 2am, until he was disturbed by a phone call. It was his black Sony Ericsson X1 which was one of many of his work mobiles. He usually had them changed quite often due to many reasons. When this particular phone rang it meant serious business – business that only a few of the demon underground were involved in…
Gray picked it up without saying word and listened intently.
“We have new information” said an unknown voice on the other side. “It could possibly be a seer”, Gray’s wolf eyes aroused flashing into their bronze demon. “The courthouse was her last known destination, we believe her name is Sorell”….then the voice hung up.
Denure was only recently there and didn’t pick up any signs of an unnatural behavior from anyone, but then again seers were very human-like.
He rushed out the door carrying a small bag of extra clothes and ran down the stairs of his building to the ground floor and out the door. Gray loved a chase; it gave him such a rush of excitement and satisfaction.
Gray rushed out the building and down one of the nearby alleys. The shadows engulfed his guise and birthed a demon. A built dark grey creature appeared from the depths of the alley. Within the shadows it was hard to tell what it was exactly, but its dark bronze orbs eerily flashed into a night vision sort of glow. Then suddenly the creature raced down the streets keeping to the darker parts.
Eventually the creature re-appeared at the entrance of the ‘Tom McCall waterfront park’ and headed over the square towards the courthouse steps. The creature purposely stepped into the light for a brief moment to scare any unwanted visitors. The street lamp shone onto the creature only to have it illuminate a gorgeously toned grey wolf. Gray’s eyes were fierce with softness, and his pace was gracefully presented. The run had caused him to pant a little but that did not stop him from stalking the grounds around the courthouse.
His was extremely bushy baring a dark grey with freckles of white painted all over his coat. Every so often his attention would be still, like a statue. He would listen all around him, twitching his ears to every vibration. The lone male wolf looked like royalty in his entire pose.
Morning had risen and Gray Denure leant against the stone banister of the stairs that led up to the courthouse. He tied his trainers firmly back onto his feet, and ate an apple. The same bag he had taken with him on his ‘run’ stood beside him. Employees rushed up to the courthouse, ready for another days’ work. Gray just remained outside and watched out for any ‘Seers’.
