Feel free to discuss.
I know that for some the 'time warp' issue will be a problem but it has come to my attention that there are many people who are 'stuck' because their RP partners are away or take a very long time to respond to posts.
If you would like to give details as to why you voted the way you did, it would be appreciated.
(Please only vote once per person... This is not a per character poll.)

I personally don't think everyone should go crazy in be active in like, six different threads at once, but there are a few situations where it wouldn't be so bad.
For example, doing a scene from your character's past for development wouldn't hurt a current thread.
Also, I think it's unfair to make someone's character sit in a thread that's been idle for days because the other player couldn't post. I understand real life comes up and RP has its place further down on the list of priorities, but I don't think there should be anything wrong with putting a temporary freeze on a scene and being able to free up your character until the other player gets back.
As the board gains popularity, and we find ourselves with a flux of members who come to stay forever, members who come to stay for a time and members who post once or twice and then abandon, I think it will be important to leave a loophole out of threads that just go stale from more effort on one person's part than the other's.
And, some people's lifestyles just enable them to post more regularly than others. Look at me, I'm here every day, refreshing frequently to see if there's anything new. Some people really may be able to only post once a week. A scene at that rate could take months to complete. Even if the person who could only post once a week was the best writer and roleplayer in the world, people who post with more regularity might be discouraged to play with him/her if they know they can only be in one thread at a time.
I think there should be a maximum of 2 active threads, possibly three but only if the third is temporarily frozen-in-time due to an absence over a week, and when the other player gets back, you'd have to finish up one of your two active threads before the frozen one could be picked up again. I hope that made sense!

As I mentioned to someone else before, not everyone has more than one character, and for those that do, should they get into a thread where it takes days for someone to respond, they're basically unable to interact with others because of the limitation. Even with those that have more than one character, they can be caught up in scenes while they're wishing to be present in others.
So, being one of those people that only has one character (not that I'm in a rush to close the thread I'm in) I'd like to join another to interact with others.
I, like Meghan, am online constantly, and so I find myself refreshing as well. Mostly it's to read other people's posts, though, heh. Regardless, being online all the time, I'd like to interact with those that might have my same time zone or something.
I've much more to add, but I'll hold off for the time. ::Chuckles::

I too, agree with the previous two posters that for those of us who have the ability to be online checking the site for most of the day, just waiting for our partner(s) to respond so that we can continue the thread along have countless opportunities to read the threads posted by others that we would love for our characters to be able to be a part of.
There is the problem with a "Time Warp" as a previous poster stated. Maybe some sort of prevention from allowing people from jumping back and forth from post to post as something peeks their interest but still allowing them the ability to not have to sit idly as they wait on a response from someone in a thread for a day or two.
Just my two cents.

I personally don't think that having people post in more than one thread will be a problem. That said, I do think that some guidelines should be in effect. I don't think that we want one character being everywhere at once, but two or three possible threads would allow for the story to flow, even when a thread has become a bit quiet.

If players are allowed to play in more than one thread at a time, I personally would haev to say only two or three max. And a way to keep up with the threads would be to have them place the threads in a particular place, with a timing on them (as in, 'this thread is before or after that thread'). Did I make sense at all?? All I know is there should be a way to tell which thread comes before which, if the player has more than one.

I completely agree with Meg. I think that there should be three tops if one is frozen and that you should finish up your third around the same time your last unfreezes.
I would think that anyone doing this should put a timeline with them in the thread recording section so people can look into it if they are interested. As suggested above.

I personally see no reason not to have multiple threads per character. I'm on this one site, where there (technically) is no limit, and everyone seems to get on ok. They don't post time lines, they don't really seem to indicate times and dates, but everyone seems to get roughly when by characters being influenced by and referring to other threads that have happened and with an in character news page thing.

Wow i've missed a few things...
Ok well I agree with everyone...But obviously this should come with rules.
Perhaps if possible the two - three hreads should be linked in someway, that way its more of a good linked personal character story rather than randomness
