Her voice was soft as she mumbled something about Ryuu’s insistence on calling her ‘Miss’. It was beginning to get a little bit more than annoying, it was starting to feel like that irritating itch you just can’t scratch. Sighing deeply, she moved to the edge of the building and looked down to the street below.
“Why is this a gift? If my mother had it, then she didn’t want it either. She was always doing some kind of drug or another. She didn’t want me but you still say this is a gift. It’s a curse!”
She continued to look away from Ryuu as the tears streamed down. When she turned back, she was shocked that he was reaching out to her, trying to touch her face... her tears.
“I’m crying because this is too much. I’m crying because this hurts,” she said brokenly but she did not flinch when he touched her.
Confusion sat in her face as she gazed at the being before her. He seemed nice enough and she was through with thinking things over. Screw being safe!
With a nod, Peyton offered a weak smile.
“Can we get off of this roof first?”

Ryuu looked at his fingers, watching the tear on them while listening to the young blonde woman speak her mind. Had she really read him that easily? That she saw he was amazed but also confused about the tears? That was a new one... since when did he show what he was thinking!?
"...Drugs..?"
He asked quietly. So that's how the woman had managed to hide her abilities? Drugs clouded the mind and easily made you look like a mad man or... woman in this case. Ryuu's eyes looked up from the tear on his fingers to Peyton's eyes and frowned.
"She... didn't want you?"
He suddenly got a flashback to a life he had managed to hide, to swallow so deep inside himself he had almost forgotten he was a child except for that one incident that lead to him being disowned and an outcast at the mere age of 14, he indeed knew how it was not to be wanted. He got a pained mine on his face while his thoughts raged through him, thoughts he had wished never came back again. By closing his eyes and swallowing he forced the memories away once again.
"Then... she is a very foolish woman for not realizing what she has.."
He said and looked back at the tear on his fingers that had begun to dry and spoke as if he was in his own mind still.
"... I know how it is to be rejected, misjudged and disowned... miss Petyon... I know that very well. I grew up among humans once and all I ever wished for was to look like them.. to be like them..."
He mumbled then blinked as if snapping out of his own thoughts. 'wait... what the hell am I saying!? since when is Ryuu no Futeki... the Fearless Dragon a softie like this!? What the hell am I doing! ... get a grip Futeki!'. He shook his head somewhat then looked up at her again.
"Hai... it's hard to get home if you stay on the roof"
He said, almost making a joke.. what the hell? How could this woman bring so many strange things out of him? Ryuu was usually a rather grumpy person, making sure his orders were handed out and made, everything on its own place and everybody having respect for him without question and here he was oogling over a damned human like a weak human boy high on hormones! He snorted somewhat at himself before he slowly rose to his full 7'2 demon length and his 6'2 human length, looking at the girl before him.
"One can not live in the past but look ahead for what the future brings and get stronger on the way there"
He said then as if he had never said anything, he glanced around and realized there was no fire escape leading to the roof on this building. He quirked a brow then looked back at her before going over to the edge and leaned over to see how far down it was. about four floors, he could take that.
"Looks like we take a jump to get down"
He said, turning around to look down at her, asking her if she dared to trust him that way or if he should get something she could climb down on instead.

Peyton watched the demon with wary eyes. She was past the point of caring anymore. The memories of her mother had opened a hole in her heart that she thought was healing but no matter how hard she tried to stitch it back together, there was nothing she could to do heal that particular soul wound.
Walking up next to Ryuu, Peyton nodded at him in response to his living in the past comment. She turned her face up to look upon his true form and smiled. Though she had a slight shiver of fear, there was something about this... ‘man’ that was making her comfortable.
Shrugging a shoulder, Peyton wiped her eyes and then turned away from him and back down to look at the road.
“That’s a long way down. You think you can take us both down there without killing me,” she asked with only the slight inflection of doubt.
With a shrug, Peyton turned to look at him once more. She already had the scare of her life and now she was just numb to it. She was no longer concerned if she was going to die or not. She was only concerned with one thing and that was getting off this roof.

He turned to look at her when she approached. He wasn't sure if she was trusting or just numb due to everything that had happened but she at least seemed calmer at the moment and that was a good thing.
When she smiled, he smiled back but with a closed mouth as if not wanting to scare her with his fangs she had pointed out he had earlier. To be honest Ryuu wasn't sure how much of him was scaring except his height alone. At least he didn't have any horns or tail like other demons had. He looked fairly normal except for his claws, fangs, eyes and the slight shimmer of dragon looking scales in his skin depending on what kind of light it was.
"Iiya.. I got you up here, didn't I?" [yes]
He said and tilted his head again before he looked down. There was a balcony there and a half broken fire escape ladder was not too far away on the other side of the building.
Ryuu turned to look at her then opened his arms a little telling her he'd need to hold her closely. Once she let him, he held her like a parent holds their child over one hip, making her hold her arms around her neck to steady herself.
"Hold on tight."
He said then took the leap off the edge of the roof, jumping down at the balcony's railing then with a feline grace, leaped from it to the other building, grabbing hold of the ladder with one arm while getting a good footing and headed off to the other balcony on the next floor down then got onto the outer side of it, grabbing the side with his free arm then got down to the next floor's balcony.
The last two floors he jumped from balcony to the other in a zig-zag way until he landed on top of a large trash bin with grace then jumping down on the ground and gently put Peyton down to a stand before him and looked her over, hoping she was okay -- his eyes asking her this even though he didn't say it in words.

As he jumped from the roof, Peyton wrapped her arms around Ryuu’s neck and buried her head in the crook of her arm. She didn’t want to see them jumping to their death! When it was over and the smooth motions of Ryuu’s body stopped under her, Peyton opened her eyes. They had made it! She was still alive. When he set her to the ground, Peyton released her grip and smiled sheepishly.
“Thank you Ryuu.”
She turned away from him then and walked back out to the street, sure that he would follow. As they walked, she was silent, thinking about the past and the future. Peyton didn’t know what it meant to be a ‘Seer’ but she did know that this all felt like some bizarre dream. She was sure that she would wake up soon.
But Ryuu’s body under her had felt so real and she could even smell him when she had clung to his body. Surely that couldn’t be a figment of her imagination. It was obvious that he wasn’t the first demon that she had seen but he was the first demon that she had any major interaction with.
She could remember that popular girl in high school... She knew that girl was a demon. And as such, she always stayed away from her. It just made her high school life more difficult but in the end, it was worth it just to be away from that creature. And now here she was, walking with ease along side a demon.
Peyton glanced at Ryuu out of the corner of her eye and smiled. There was something about him that calmed her, if she was being honest with herself. And of course, he had those looks... Even if she didn’t normally go for Asian guys, Ryuu was gorgeous.

Ryuu looked at her while allowing her to step back from him if she wanted to but he wouldn't step away himself if she didn't. To be honest he was starting to like this girl more and more, something was stirring in his heart and it was quite... odd. He couldn't really put his finger on what the feeling was except for the fact he had never felt this way before.
"You're welcome, Miss Peyton"
He said with a light smile, watching her move and walk out from the ally and to the street, he wasn't slow to follow her and easily caught up to her and put himself walking beside her in her pace, glancing at her now and then.
She seemed calmer now but perhaps lost in thought a bit but at least she wasn't running and that was a good thing. She actually allowed him to walk beside her and that in itself meant that he had managed to get some form of connection with her no matter how small it was.
Suddenly he met eyes with her. She was... glancing.. at him? He bit the inside of his cheek to make sure a slight grin didn't appear on his lips while meeting her eyes if she didn't look away.
"I'm not only asian you know..."
He said then paused for a moment.
"I have european blood in me as well and a bit of indian and egyptian too... my parents were a mix even before they had me.."
He commented, pausing a moment before he returned his gaze on the streets again.

Cocking her head to the side, Peyton took a sidelong glance at her walking companion when he told her of his heritage. It seemed to Peyton that it was a bit of a stretch to begin speaking of his biracial status; almost as if it came out of nowhere. Shrugging a bit, she smiled and nodded... What else could the seer do?
Sidestepping the conversation a bit, Peyton led it in another direction.
“I really wish you wouldn’t call me Miss. Peyton is fine, really. In fact, it seems a bit too formal.”
With a sigh, she stopped in front of a building off of Burnside. Looking up at the lights of the apartment complex, Peyton smiled and then turned to look down the street at the cars passing on Burnside, going about their business.
“This is me,” she said while jerking her thumb back to the complex. “Thank you for the walk home.”

Ryuu choked a smirk, pretending not to see her looks on him that kind of asked why he had brought up his heritage. He had seen the looks she had given him and he was pretty sure she was wondering or at least looking at him for being asian.
He wasn't the most typical asian guy by looks however. What he said was true, he did have quite a mix of blood in him that gave him an even more exotic look than pure blood japanese.
The demon looked up at the building when she pointed at it with her thumb and nodded lightly before turning his gaze to her again, tilting his head.
"Very well, I won't call you miss if that's how you feel about the matter"
He said then grinned lightly at her with a glimmer in his demonic fire flame-eyes. He knew where she lived now unless she was fooling him but he would find that out sooner or later. He knew her scent now, knew her face and had understood the basics of her personality as well.
"The pleasure was mine. I will be around, we'll meet again..."
He placed a light hand on her shoulder and looked deeply into her eyes.
"...take care now and if you're ever in trouble, just go to the club Avandrya and ask for Ryuu no Futeki, I'll have my staff informed that you are a V.I.P without questions needing to be asked before entrance. They should guide you directly to me."
He let his hand fall from her shoulder and he backed away a few steps before turning back around. He walked a few steps then looked back over his left shoulder.
"Take care now... little seer, I'll be around"
He said, then took a leap up on a balcony and climbed up on it before he turned around to leap onto a broken fire escape on the next building before he climbed up on the roof and disappeared from view. He had to get back to Throuveil, people were most likely waiting on him there by now.
