--CHARACTER--
Real Name: Jacob Isaac Cornwell
Nickname: Jake
ALIAS: Isaac J. Smith
Race: Caucasian
True age: 18
Apparent age: Hard to tell. Late teens or very early 20's.
Sex: Male
Portrayed by: Jesse Metcalfe
Eyes: Hazel; colors vary.
Hair color: Dark brown/black
Hair length: Kept short
Skincolor: Tanned
Body shape: Fit and cut with very little body fat; athletic.
Height: 5'11"
Weight: 170lbs
Other Features: Very simple, possibly homemade tattoos on the underside of either wrist. On the left wrist is the outline of a cross with "LISA" inked within, on the right is the outline of a crow in flight whose shape is similar to the cross. There is nothing but a red tear inside the crow's outline.
Reputation: As a Cornwell, he is the weak one. Was fearful of hunting down the demons who killed his baby sister, and actually cried when his father thrust a knife in his hand and ordered him to kill the weakest one they had captured. He is the black sheep of the family and has to work twice as hard to get a sliver of respect or affection from them.
As Isaac J. Smith, he masquerades as a 21 year old prospective college student, or as an established student. False I.D.'s confirm his stories. For all intents and purposes, he's just another kid who's more interested in goofing off than working for that education their parents are paying for.
Strength: Compassion, street smarts, wit, simple good-ol'-boy charm. As a farm boy in a farming community, he grew up scrapping with bigger boys and can handle his own in a fight. Also proficient with knives and some handguns.
Weaknesses: Compassion. A gnawing fear that his family has gone past avenging Lisa's death, and is now toeing the waters of fanaticism. His deeply ingrained sense of loyalty is slowly beginning to waver because of this. MASSIVE GUILT for some of the things he's done. Killing turns his stomach; so while he may be handy with knives and handguns, he will usually hesitate before inflicting a potentially fatal wound.
Likes: Football, wrestling (the kind he did in high school, not that crap on ECW), fried chicken with mashed potatoes and gravy, sweet iced tea brewed from teabags, big cities, architecture, the world outside of Texas.
Fears/Dislikes: Hurting others. His parents when they are cruel or snide with him, his sister when she's being haughty or vicious. Dreaming about his sister's death; dreaming about the Seer whose blood stains his hands. Communism and anything else that threatens the democratic splendor of this nation. Any restaurant that has food on the menu he can't pronounce.
Job: As Jake Cornwell, he scouts ahead and locates the hub of activity for the Demon Underground, observes the comings and goings, profiles the members, and alerts his parents with his findings. Then he moves on to the next city before they move in and start the violence.
As Isaac J. Smith, he's either a student or soon to be one. He often applies for jobs in higher end nightclubs as a bouncer or a bartender to compliment his search.
Family ties: Mother, father, one surviving sibling. No contact with any non-immediate relations.
Lover(s): His heart wouldn't be in it, and he was raised better than one night stands.
Short history: (A/N: I'll try to keep it short this time )
Jacob was born like any other boy in Texas; with a great amount of hootin' and hollerin'. Not so much from him, but from his dad.
He grew up just like most farm boys; with a healthy respect for his parents and a willow switch, hands hardened from farming alongside his parents and older sister, and a fierce love/hate relationship with the boys who lived in the nearby farms.
He worked hard in school because it was a privilege to be there. He loved playing on the football and wrestling teams. He really liked Carlie Smith, who caught his eye and made his throat go dry when she smiled at him during second grade recess.
In short, he was a good, clean-cut American boy destined to grow up to be a hard workin' country man just like his dad.
Lisa's death changed things.
Lisa's death changed everything.
Now he's caught up in a world of revenge and grief, of righteous hostility and gnawing guilt, and there doesn't seem to be an end in sight.
He's just left San Francisco, and after a brief check in Eugene, has arrived in Portland. Like the crow on his wrist, he's a harbinger omen.
And only he will weep for his sins, and those of his blood, when the reckoning follows.
