Rayik had to work double time to hide his uncomfortable smile. On an impulse he wanted to kiss her back, but he held it in check by clearing his throat.
He could tell she wanted to leave. It sure wasn't his first choice, but he knows when to accept a decision.
“If you feel you need to leave, then that's fine. Just make sure you're careful out there.”
Even as he was saying it he felt less and less like letting her go. He tried his best not to let that show as he moved away to pack away the rest of the kitchen supplies.
Rayik's feelings were making him uncomfortable. His instinct was to back away and simply push her out of his mind and out of his life. He'd been doing that for so long that he wasn't sure if there was any other option anymore. The occasional one-night stand and nothing more had been all he'd experienced for the last twenty years. These feelings were not the same as his sexual urges, that much was certain.
Ashlee...these feelings reminded him of her. Rayik quickly put those thoughts away as fast as he could. He had a great deal of experience at squandering those memories into the deep recesses of his mind. He couldn't bring himself to ask if they'd see each other again. There's that cold indifference again. Unable to get past that, he turned around when the kitchen looked like it had never been touched and just gazed into her eyes from across the kitchen. His eyes were filled with more mixed feelings than humanly possible. Good thing he was a demon, so that wasn't a problem.
Anxiously, he waited for her to ask the question he wanted to so badly, 'When will we see each other.'

Fallon knew there was something there. She could see it in his eyes but she just couldn’t put her finger on what it was that made his features so withdrawn at one moment and then so animated the next. It just seemed to conflict with her views of the world and how people worked. So, Fallon chalked it up to the past and pushed the thought aside with a bittersweet smile as she wondered why he didn’t kiss back.
“I hope you’ll at least walk me to the truck, Rayik. Perhaps there I can get a proper goodbye?”
She grinned a ‘catch me if you can’ smile and turned on her heel to make for the door. Fallon allowed the door to be opened for her. Looking into the main room, she watched for a moment as the few people about were going about their business. Meditation, training and the like was not something that Fallon usually dealt with and this was a new environment for her; an interesting environment to say the least.
Once to the outer doors, Fallon donned her shoes and stepped into the cold night air. She curses herself for not bringing a coat as snow sprinkled down to the streets, landing silently at her feet.
“Damn this weather,” she exclaimed under her breath before turning to face her escort.
Her smile was large as she looked at the piles of the cold wet stuff that sloshed up against the curbs. A plan was forming in her mind and being the creature that she was, she wasn’t going to let it go until she got the answer she wanted. First, she needed to ask the question.
“You like the snow right?”
Sure, it was a leading question but she knew what she wanted and she was going to go for it. He needed a day of unwinding. All she needed to do was get a promise out of him. And it all started with that question: You like the snow right?

He admired some of his students as he walked through the main area. They were doing quite well this evening with their exercises. He donned his shoes and grabbed a light jacket, not putting it on.
The most Rayik could manage in the immediate sense was a blink at her question. He considered the question and shrugged, “I am actually quite fond of the snow. I have some irritating memories from China, but apart from that I find it beautiful.” He extended his arm with the jacket and smirked at her.
“Trust me, you need this more than I do.”

Fallon took the jacket with a pleased smile. This was working out better than she would have imagined! Not only did he like the snow but he gave her a coat to borrow. Nothing pleased her more than having her plans work flawlessly. And so, she shrugged into the jacket and snuggled into it as it draped over she body, two sizes to large for her.
“Well, thank you, Rayik. That was very kind of you.”
Now, how would she phrase the next portion of her evil plan? It hit her then, like a ton of bricks.
“I’ll need to get this jacket back to you and since I had plans to go out to the park tomorrow afternoon, you can pick it up from me there. Unless you’re busy, then you can meet me at Avandrya tomorrow night... I don’t have to work tomorrow!”
As they neared the truck, Fallon unlocked the driver side door, hopped in and started the old beast. Stepping back out of the truck, she began sweeping snow off the hood and windshield while awaiting his response. She’d given him two options; she just needed to see which he would go for. Sure, if Rayik chose to meet her at Avandrya, it would ruin the plan she had hatched up in her mind but at least she would be able to see him and that was a prize in and of it self. Of course, she would never admit that!

On the inside Rayik beamed, but on the outside he simply smiled. He almost laughed at the thought of being busy. Rayik hadn't been busy since he was young. He liked to take things at a slower pace most of the time, very patient and precise. While he didn't want her to leave tonight, he was certainly patient enough to walk in the park with her tomorrow.
“I would like to go to the park. I, actually, have not been since I've come to Portland. What time and place should I expect to see you at the Park?” Just asking that made him excited, both to see her and observe some landscape. He loved being outdoors, walking, and talking with Fallon. Tomorrow sounded like a good day in Rayik's book.
He couldn't help but wonder if she had really planned on going to the park or if she made that up just to spend some time with him. Either would have been fine, but the second would have been intriguing. He kicked some of the built up snow off the small porch and looked up to her, thinking about saying goodbye, but saying nothing.

Fallon grinned happily, thrilled with the prospects for the next day. She was so thrilled that she moved from the truck to Rayik’s side once again. This time she placed her hands on his hips and stared up into his eyes.
“I’ll meet you near the Morrison Bridge at noon. Wear warm clothes because the weather man said the snow was still going to be falling. Don’t want you to catch your death of a cold.”
With that she rose up on her tip toes and once again pressed her lips to his. She didn’t care that he was held like a statue before. This time she let the kiss linger even if it was chaste and sweet, it was long.
Turning around, Fallon plowed through the snow and flew the truck door open. Ducking into the snow, she quickly packed a snowball and lobbed it at the man. In the truck before he could retaliate, the little fae took off... Happy that she gave Rayik a taste of what was to come on the morrow.
