Ryuu could hear the women exit and slam the door but he couldn’t care less on how they walked out of the room. He needed to have a ‘little talk’ with his head of protection of Avandrya. Once the memory was pulled out of Decric’s mind he could feel the resisting instantly starting to form as the wall was build block by block.
Ryuu pushed a bit more even though he knew Cedric would get him out of his mind sooner or later but he wasn’t going to make it easy for him anyway. It didn’t take more than a few minutes before his own mind started to sting and tear and he groaned somewhat and put his hand on his temple and clenched his jaws together just before he was knocked back and stumbled the three steps back and hit the door with a thump and gasped a few times, blinking and shaking his head to clear his head.
He growled an answer to the protector in a low tone the moment after Cedric had spoken.
“Likewise, Cedric.”
He said while somewhat catching his breath, and getting off the door and went over to the table and slammed his fist down at the table with a hard slam.
“You need to learn not to insult me in front of people, especially[/u] not in front of a seer! They are so rare already I don't need to be doubted by one that has finally found her way here!![/b] That leaves me no other choice but put you in your place, Cedric! You may be a few hundred years older than I am, but I still run this place and if people can not respect me, I can not do my job... that goes for you as well while we're on the clock. You Know this!”
Just as he finished his sentence, the waiter came in with the sake and the whiskey along with two glasses requested by Cedric a moment ago, Ryuu just remembered when the knock on the door came before she opened, left the tray on the table and went out with not as much as a sign on her face whether she heard anything of the argue or not.
Ryuu growled and sighed heavily after the door closed he activated a sound proof barrier around the room before he continued. Slumping down on one of the chairs and grabbed the sake that was offered to him and drank half of it instantly before placing it down, with clearly shaking hands which revealed his hunger as well as how upset he was.
His right hand came to rest over his forehead, the left still cradling the glass of sake and mumbled.
“nh….. gomen nasai... Cedric”
[forgive me]
He inhaled slowly then sighed, closing his eyes for a moment.
“I’m hungry… I haven’t eaten since early morning two days ago… And… we now have more trouble on the way…”
He downed the rest of his sake in one go and placed the glass down on the table with a light klink. He slowly opened his eyes and glanced up at the wall in front of him with a forced calm that most probably wouldn’t last too long but he fought well to keep in control. He started talking slowly with a calm voice while still trembling.
“Today… when I went out after the brawl earlier... I was going to feed but… things came up and I didn't get my fill… I met someone, a girl..”
He now looked up directly in Cedric’s eyes if the man looked at him.
“She is a seer as well, Cedric… we now have a huge gift in Portland, but also a curse because it will mean that we will have more trouble on the way here already and that was even before this young woman cam here. The girl that was in this room already knows she is a seer and knows how to use her abilities… the girl I met, Miss Peyton. She seems more haunted by what she sees than anything, she’s untrained and doubting of her own power…”
He paused and watched Cedric’s reaction for a moment before he continued.
“She needs protection and very much so but she does not trust people easily. And now we have this other woman as well… I cannot let you as head protector run around protecting a seer since you have other duties as well, and I cannot let Cardei babysit this one all the while either…”
He sighed again and poured himself some more sake in the special sake glass that came with the tradition of drinking sake where you could place your finger in the bottom of the glass to balance it while drinking. He took another swing before his right hand once again found his forehead, the shaking starting to become very clear and almost impossible not to see.
“I didn’t want to say anything with this… seer in here… I do know … w-..where the one I met… Miss Peyton… lives though, managed to…. make her… trust me enough to walk her home…”
He struggled to talk calmly, to keep in control, at least until he had finished speaking with Cedric, he needed to finish this meeting and make plans with the man before he could leave.
