If you have more questions, please feel free to reply to this post and we will add your question and its answer to the F.A.Q.
What is Avandrya?
Avandrya is a chain of night clubs that can be found in most major cities. It tends to be one of the most popular clubs in any city that is located in because of its reputation for safety. Drugs, weapons and fights are very rare to see inside. If you were to ask someone who has been to Avandrya if they had ever seen any of those things, the answer would be no. Bouncers, big brutes of men and women, guard the entrances and exits as well as the stairs leading to the elite VIP area.
But that VIP area is more than just elite, it is a spelled area where the Thouveil is housed.
What is the Throuveil?
The Throuveil is an area within every Avandrya Night Club. This area is specifically for the Demon Underground. Its purpose is to rip away the Guise Spell that demons and other supernatural beings possess, so that they can walk in peace as their true selves.
What is the Guise Spell?
The Guise spell is something that is naturally cast by 99% of the Demon Underground. This spell makes the supernatural being’s image to be seen by mortal eyes as just another mortal. The 1% that cannot cast this spell on themselves are taken at infancy to a Seer or Witch to have the spell cast upon them. Once the spell is cast, it is permanent (unless it is dispelled from them via the same people who can cast them).
With a naturally occurring Guise, the wearer will have control over when it is visible and when it is not. It is a bit more difficult for the younger folk to remove and replace the Guise where as the older folk have a much easier time.
Keep in mind that it is of the utmost importance to keep your Guise in place when around mortals. In fact, if you reveal the secret of your being to a mortal it could have dire consequences.
What is the Demon Underground?
The Demon Underground is a generic term for any supernatural being. They can be demons, witches, were-creatures, vampires, fae, or any other creature from your dreams or nightmares. They are just as people; some can be evil and some can be good but whatever their alignment, they are all born as humans are. The only exception to the rule is that vampires and were-creatures are created.
How is the Throuveil created?
The Throuveil spell is a ritual, one that only a Seer can cast. When the Seer casts this spell her blood, her life force, feeds the spell so that it can continue to work properly for centuries.
Who are the Seers?
Seers are rare supernatural human women who have the ability, when reaching puberty, to be able to see through the Guise. When they view a demon that is out in the world, the Guise is almost like seeing a shimmering hologram over top of the true face of the demon. When the Seer reaches adulthood, they begin to have visions of the future. These visions mark them as the Oracle that they were intended to be. It is not a rare sight to see demons flocking to a town that houses a Seer, as they wish to know about the future of their kind, if their lover is cheating, or a myriad of other questions. Once the Seer touches the subject, she is compelled to speak what she sees. But her visions are not always what the subject wishes to know the answer to. So, as a form of protection for themselves, a Seer’s touch will cause physical pain to the one that they read and that pain, if held for long enough, can cause death.
In the past, Seers had given up their lives to be of service to the Demon Underground. They would go to cities that they knew would blossom into sprawling metropolitan areas and they created the Throuveil in these places. But because it caused their deaths, many of these Seers were forced and were not able to give birth to the next generation of Seer...
Please note: No Seers are to be created without Staff approval. This game already has two and they are supposed to be extremely rare.
Why is it called the Demon Underground? Why not call it something more generic to include all of the supernatural?
Legend has it that the first Seer saw an Elemental and dubbed it a demon in some more puritan times. And every other supernatural being that she saw was also dubbed a demon. She learned about the society within her own society and dubbed it the Demon Underground, encompassing all of the beings that would gather around her for her visions.
Are there any half breeds?
Demons and other supernatural beings have been reproducing with humans for centuries. It is fairly rare that a demon does not have some human blood in them. But because the demon blood is so strong, it is also rare to find a human with demon blood walking around... One that doesn't know anything about the Demon Underground and the Throuveil.
